Eragon

One boy... One dragon... A world of adventure. A classic, nostalgic series from my childhood. I think there are stronger books in the series but this is a strong book on its own that sets up the rest of the series very well. It definitely follows the young adult fiction formula very closely, but the other parts of the series and its sheer creativity and imagination more than make up for it
